GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: Do you have motors with CE mark on the nameplates?
A: All motors have CE mark on the nameplates.

Q: Are your motors safety certified?
A: XP motors are UL listed and CSA certified, other motors are CSA certified and UL recognized.

ELECTRICAL QUESTIONS

Q: Are all your motors inverter rated?
A: Elektrimax GP & Elektrim HP motors are rated with VFD capability 5:1CT & 10:1VT. Elektrimax 56C Series, Stainless Steel and Explosion Proof motors are not inverter duty.

Q: Are your NEMA motors suitable for Y/Delta & Part Winding starting?

A: Yes. Standard Elektrimax motors starting from 7.5HP & Elektrim motors starting from 213T frame are suitable for Y/Delta starting at 460V. Motors up to 100HP are suitable for Part Winding at 230V, motors 125HP & up are suitable for Part Winding starting at 460V.

Q: Can your NEMA motors run at 208V?

A: NEMA Motors up to 400 frames are suitable at 208V. The connection diagram is the same at 230V. Amp at 208V is placed on the nameplate.

Q: Do you offer dual rated motors for 60/50Hz?

A: Elektrimax GP & XP motors are dual rated for 60/50Hz on the standard nameplate: 230/460V at 60Hz @ nominal HP & 380V at 50Hz @ lower output HP. Elektrim motors are rated with nominal HP @ 380V 50Hz up to 50HP and with lower output HP above.

Q: Do you offer 575V motors from stock?

A: Yes. Standard stock Elektrim 230/460V NEMA motors up to 100HP, Elektrim metric motors from IEC132 frame and Elektrimax GP motors from 7.5HP to 400 frames can be re-rated to 575V with nominal HP.

Q: Do you offer motors with not standard voltages and HP?

A: Many NEMA & metric motors can be re-rated for different Voltage and/or HP and/or Frequency based on duty cycle, application, ambient temperature and SF. Please contact us for your special application needs.

Q: What kind of brake do you use on your brake motors DC or AC?

A: Our brake motors are equipped with DC disc brake with 460VAC rectifier placed inside the junction box. On customer request 460VAC rectifier can be replaced to 230VAC one.

Q: Can I order NEMA motor with terminal board?

A: Yes, we offer NEMA motors with optional terminal boards.

Q: Do you offer terminal boards on your metric motors?

A: Yes, metric motors up to 112M frame are equipped with terminal board as a standard. Metric motors starting from IEC132 have 12 leads in loose (Double Delta/Delta connection diagram at 230/460V) and can be equipped with terminal board optionally.

Q: Do you offer motors with thermal sensors?

A: Elektrimax XP motors and Elektrim motors starting 320 frames are equipped with thermistors in windings as standard other motors can be equipped with different thermal sensors optionally.

Q: Must an inductor be used between motor and drive?

A: Any motor connected to an inverter drive with power leads that exceed 100ft should have an inductor between the motor and drive.

Q: What kind of starter do you prefer for your motors?

A: We prefer starters that include a circuit breaker, contactor, and overload. All starters should be sized according to National Electric Code.
